We are delighted to announce the 2021 Bruno Mathsson winner: Swedish designer and Zanat’s creative director Monica Förster.
The Bruno Mathsson Prize is awarded annually since 1984 and is the largest design prize in the Nordic region. The award ceremony takes place on 20 November 2021 at the art and design museum Vandalorum in Värnamo in connection with the opening of an extensive exhibition with Förster in Formladan.
Her cross-border and international design dialogues surprise and amaze, as does the mix of lightness and weight in the creative expressions. She is an ambitious committed lone wolf who challenges modern classics with unexpected resilience in its forms; she mixes elegance and objectivity. Monica has not only designed an impressive number of award-winning products for Zanat, but having been the brand’s art director from the time Zanat’s was formally launched as a brand, Monica has been a tireless design captain of our voyage through global design seas.
