Zanat reached a new milestone as it unveiled Home of Zanat, its first monobrand shop in Sarajevo’s National Art Gallery: a fusion of art & design and a new cultural destination in the historic city.
As the saying goes, it takes an endless amount of history to make even a little tradition. For Zanat, it has been just over a century. Over a century since our great grandfather Gano Nikšić learned a pioneering woodcarving technique in the Austro-Hungarian Empire and established our family tradition now spanning over four generations. In 1919 Gano’s sons opened the family workshop in Konjic. One hundred and five years later we opened Zanat’s first brick-and-mortar shop in the historic center of Bosnia’s capital – Sarajevo.
